Many water districts in California offer rebates to homeowners or businesses who replace high-water-use toilets with High Efficiency Toilets (HETs). These rebate programs vary greatly by water district, so it is difficult to make guarantees to you or your clients about the procedure or rebate amount. Furthermore the programs change or are suspended often, so it is important to contact the individual water districts for the most accurate information. There may be exceptions, but many water districts follow the below guidelines.

General Guidelines:
Depending on the program, rebates can be between $50 and $125

The old toilet must flush 3.5 GPF or more

The new toilet must flush 1.28 GPF or less

The model must be approved by the program

The request must be preapproved and the claim must be submitted to the water district in a timely manner
